Presented by Nishadi Davis, Jason Zhai, Odarka Moreno, Sukanya Prabhudesai, and Hari Keerthana Kamalakannan
The webinar will present findings from a detailed review of the current state of green hydrogen production, distribution, and use in Nova Scotia. It will also evaluate the feasibility of hydrogen-based process heating technologies, including hydrogen blending, hydrogen-ready equipment, and the conversion of existing systems. By examining case studies and current best practices, this webinar aims to equip stakeholders with the knowledge needed to drive the region's decarbonization efforts effectively.
Join the presenters to discover how green hydrogen can play a transformative role in Nova Scotia’s industrial landscape and contribute to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
The project being reported on is called Decarbonizing Nova Scotia’s Industrial Sector with Green Hydrogen, a Net Zero Atlantic research partnership made possible by the support from Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, Michelin North America Inc., Port Hawkesbury Paper, and The Shaw Group.
Full abstract for the presentation: In partnership with Net Zero Atlantic, Wood conducted a comprehensive study on the integration of green hydrogen technologies into industrial process heating applications in Nova Scotia. This study was aimed at providing valuable insights to key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry organizations, and the public, to support Nova Scotia's transition to low-carbon energy alternatives. Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, specializing in decarbonization solutions, with a dedicated team for the Atlantic provinces, ready to support Nova Scotia's transition to a low-carbon future through comprehensive expertise in hydrogen technologies and industrial process optimization. This webinar was developed based on the findings of Phase 1 of this study, which covers the assessment of use cases for green hydrogen within the province, including hydrogen's potential as a clean energy source offering a viable alternative to fossil fuels by reducing CO2 emissions through direct use or by producing synthetic hydrocarbons. Join us to discover how green hydrogen can play a transformative role in Nova Scotia’s industrial landscape and contribute to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
