Tonya Price
Director
Executive Director, Climate Change Secretariat New Brunswick
“You are only bored, if you are boring”. Words said by her Mother when she was a child have stuck with Tonya and have shaped her constant drive for interesting work and engaging relationships.
When Tonya moved away from New Brunswick in 1997, it was in search of more opportunities. She found them and proceeded to spend 20 years in Ottawa with the Canada Revenue Agency in a variety of roles from her start as a tax collector, to a decade in management of tax and benefit programs.
In March of 2019, with a goal of returning to New Brunswick, Tonya accepted a strategy director position with Service New Brunswick in Fredericton. In late 2020, she took on the role of Director of the Corporate Registry and the Personal Property Registry. With a change agenda in hand, Tonya led a myriad of legislative changes that modernized New Brunswick business landscape.
In February 2025, Tonya realized a lifelong dream of working to address climate change in New Brunswick and accepted the position of Executive Director of the Climate Change Secretariat for New Brunswick. She leads an incredible team of educated and motivated professionals working on climate change mitigation, adaptation and strategic climate initiatives.
Outside of the office, Tonya hosts a weekly radio show on CHSR FM in Fredericton where she has interviewed a vast array of Canadian musicians. She has taken yoga teacher training and offers mindfulness sessions to a variety of groups.
If Tonya’s life mission is not to be bored, she is clearly succeeding!
