Nova Scotia’s offshore wind resource has the potential to meet the growing clean energy needs of the Northeastern US. There is concern, however, that a number of these Northeastern states are focused on developing in-state offshore wind generation capacity with measures being introduced to restrict or dis-incentivize import of clean energy from Canada.
This report reviews available information and identifies legal restrictions and disincentives against the import of electricity, produced from Canadian OSW resources.
