Offshore wind electricity has the potential to (1) satisfy domestic electricity demand, (2) be exported to neighbouring jurisdictions, and (3) be used for hydrogen production. It is important for policymakers, power system operators, electricity regulators and other stakeholders to understand these potential routes to markets better and be aware of their impact on Atlantic Canada’s electricity grid.
This report provides a workplan for a study that analyses paths to market, maps the resource potential and enables effective grid integration in an Atlantic Canadian context.
