Acting Executive Director, Climate Change Secretariat, NB Dept of Environment and Local Government

Tim LeBlanc is the Acting Executive Director of the Climate Change Secretariat with the Department of Environment and Local Government. Born in Saint John and raised in Fredericton North, he graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1991 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. He is a professional member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick. He has been employed with the New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government since 1993 and has been involved in the environmental regulatory oversight over various sectors including drinking water, municipal wastewater, solid waste management, waste diversion, and pesticide management.  Most recently, he has been leading the development of an extended producer responsibility program for packaging and paper products for New Brunswick and joined the Climate Change Secretariat in September 2023. He is a current member and past-president of the Nashwaaksis Y Service Club supporting youth and seniors programs in Fredericton North.

He has been married to his wife, Joanne, for 29 years. They have two adult children, a daughter Abbie who is studying Political Science at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts and a son James who is completing his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.
