Mel Gilhuly-Melanson

Program Coordinator

Mel is finishing their Bachelor at Acadia University double majoring in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Community Development. These areas of knowledge are an extension of their diploma of Energy Sustainability Engineering Technology from Nova Scotia Community College.

Currently, Mel has a work placement with Net Zero Atlantic focusing on the Community Geothermal Resource: Capacity Assessment and Training Program. A part of their work developing an accessible toolkit for communities and individuals to assess their ability to access geothermal resources.

Mel has spent their educational career building the skills needed to assist in an equitable transition to a more sustainable future, and is driven to create meaningful, lasting change.
