Analysis Framework for Long-Term and Cumulative Effects Monitoring

This project created a framework for testing in-stream tidal turbine effects on specific marine species populations. The framework provides the basis for future assessment of far-field and cumulative environmental effects. It describes how to use past, current and future data available to determine population level effects. It also allows simulations to uncover areas where more data is/will be necessary and characterizes the variability in current monitoring approaches. The research outcomes have implications for environmental effects monitoring programs for tidal energy development.
