This study investigated what role hydrogen can play in Newfoundland and Labrador’s future energy system. The assessment reviewed all aspects of this resource from creation to end-use and evaluates the economic and technical constraints and opportunities as hydrogen use and production scale up over time in Atlantic Canada.
The study is an addendum to the Feasibility Study of Hydrogen Production, Storage, Distribution and Use in The Maritimes. Together, these reports offer a comprehensive technical and economic assessment of hydrogen’s role in Atlantic Canada’s energy system transition. The results of this work can be used to identify research priorities, set policy, and help local businesses identify energy transition supply chain business opportunities.
